Job Summary:
The Athletic Director (AD) is the chief athletics officer representing the athletics department and will provide oversight, guidance and supervision for all aspects of the men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic sports programs and facilities. Peru State College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The (AD) will lead and inspire the development of a character-driven, competitive, and student oriented athletic program that sponsors 13 sports and will share responsibility for student athlete success and will supervise and administer all aspects of the athletic program in accordance with the College's mission, values, vision and strategic plan as well as federal, state, conference, NSCS and College policies and procedures. The AD will develop a collaborative productive partnership between the athletics department and academic enterprise, student affairs, enrollment management, college relation and enhance the public perception of the College and PSC athletics responsible for providing strong management and oversight of athletic budgets, athletic scholarships, and player eligibility and to increase the prominence of PSC and PSC athletics through the leaderships of athletic public relations (website, print media and social media), and relationship building with the community and alumni.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of at least an earned master’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility in college athletic administration as well as proven, demonstrated experience in athletic eligibility, budget preparation, long-range planning, management and administration. Must possess demonstrated strong leadership and previous supervisory experience including evaluation and development of personnel. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and maintaining partnerships with faculty, academic support programs, residence life, and student affairs. Effective verbal and written communication skills; as well as the ability to interact effectively with internal and external constituencies to build relationships is also required. The individual selected will be capable of taking athletics to the “next level” through effective strategic planning and must have the ability to develop and support a significant, coordinated fundraising program.
