Job Summary:
NATURE OF WORK
The Associate Dean is a 12-month administrative position that reports to the Dean of the School. It encompasses both leadership and administrative managerial roles. This position assumes secondary leadership and responsibility for activities within the school. The Associate Dean will play an important role in the school’s leadership teams, the office of Academic Affairs, will supervise office staff, and work regularly with faculty on a variety of topics.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

- Manage the reporting process for and compliance with institutional and specialty accreditation maintained within the school.
- Program Assessment Oversight: Management of reporting deadlines, data collection, coordination with faculty, and ensuring adherence to Institutional/NSCS/HLC requirements.
- Provide leadership and support for the recruitment and retention of both undergraduate and graduate students through participation in recruitment events and meeting with student groups and individuals.
- Program development, review, and revision.
- Assist the Dean with budget development, review, and oversight.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with institutional and external stakeholders, and advisory groups.
- Coordinating Course Scheduling, including review and approval of special add requests.
- Assist in the recruiting, onboarding, professional development, and assignment of full-time faculty and adjuncts.
- Coordinating and participating in New Student Registration on behalf of the school and its departments.
- Liaison with departments within the school, assist in the planning, scheduling, and direction of departmental meetings and ad hoc groups organized within the school.
- Serve as a representative, and chair when assigned, for ad hoc and permanent college committees and task forces.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a field represented by the school.
- Administrative experience, preferably in an educational setting, which could include supervision, budget oversight, and program management.
- A demonstrated understanding of and interest in higher education including working with students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A terminal degree within a field of study represented by the School.
- Familiarity with specialty accreditation within the school.
- Familiarity with/ability to master course scheduling and registration software.
- Experience in a unionized state college/university environment.
- Teaching experience.
