
Job Summary:
This position assists in the creation of innovative solutions and is a liaison for faculty and staff for the incorporation of surgical simulation into the training for students, residents and healthcare professionals. This position will help proctor SAGES exams for residents.This position will provide operational support of facilities, activities, and resources for simulation, clinical and surgical skills and other entities utilizing the center. This includes providing technical and hands-on support for surgical simulation session preparation (human tissue, animal tissue, equipment, venue, etc.) and delivery.Participates and supports faculty and staff research activities focused on educational and clinical outcomes. This position will also support faculty and staff presentation and publications by linking them to data captured from the simulation training sessions.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare related field (i.e. Surgical Technology, Nursing, EMS, etc.)
- 2 years experience providing instruction, training, education, direct patient care and/or experience in a simulation enviornment
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsodt PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook
Will consider six years related education/experience.
- Superior organizational, planning, communication and customer service skills required Able to synthesize and use critical thinking to problem solve
- Be willing to take part in the evolution of a new field of practice and contribute to the development of a new “high-profile” entity
- Multi-tasking and ability to maintain high level of customer service especially in high pressure situations
- Possesses the strong ability to interact with various professionals (i.e. physicians, nurses, military, faculty, research scientists, etc.)
- Ability to function effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must possess the ability to work autonomously, when required, be creative and organized and function under tight timelines using high level of critical-thinking and decision-making skills
- Commitment to working in a professional, collaborative, and diverse team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences (i.e. Nursing, EMS, Surgical Technology) or equivalent and relevant degree
- Instruction, Training or Education to healthcare providers or healthcare students
- Background (2 years) in previous simulation or training environment
- Support role in surgical simulation lab or comparable training facility position
- Experience in supporting instructional activities, preferable in health science education or higher education setting
- Experience in assisting with scholarly projects
- Simulation software (i.e. CAE, Gaumard, Laerdal, etc); Ariba
- Healthcare licensure
- Surgical certifications (CST, CSFA, TS-A, CSA, CNOR) are highly desirable
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of instructional design principles, learning theory, online learning strategies, and technology integration
- Demonstrated experience in using sound instructional design principles when interacting with faculty and staff to ensure effective skills training delivery
