
Job Summary:
The Department of History at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for an assistant professor who focuses on the study of Israel, Israel Studies, and/or the Middle East. The endowed tenure-track position carries with it a 2-2 teaching load and the directorship of the Schwalb Center for Israel & Jewish Studies. The successful candidate will have a research and teaching agenda that focuses on Israel, Israel Studies, and/or the Middle East. This role supports undergraduate and graduate programs in History and contributes to interdisciplinary offerings in International Studies and Political Science. Anticipated start date is August 2026.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have their dissertation and all other work for a Ph.D. in history or a closely related field completed and approved by August 2026.
