Executive Assistant/Operations Specialist

Position Summary

The Nebraska Statewide Workforce & Educational Reporting System (NSWERS) at the University of Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled and proactive professional to serve as Executive Assistant and Operations Specialist, providing comprehensive support to the Executive Director and NSWERS leadership team. This role combines high-level administrative functions with operational coordination and small-project oversight, serving as an essential hub for organizational execution.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to manage calendars and communications, coordinate logistical and financial workflows, facilitate contract and data governance processes, and support collaborative initiatives with senior partners across Nebraska. This is a high-trust role requiring professionalism, discretion, adaptability, and strong independent judgment.

The Nebraska P-20W data initiative, known as NSWERS, is a partnership of the Nebraska prekindergarten, elementary, secondary, and postsecondary educational systems to use data and information to further evidence-based policy and practices. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of progressive administrative support experience in an administrative office for a senior-level executive or cross-functional team in a fast paced environment. 

Demonstrated competency in scheduling, financial business processing, meeting coordination, project coordination, and contract management.

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail. 

 

Equivalent combination of education, experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience preparing briefing materials or supporting public communications and executive summaries

Experience in the education K-12 or postsecondary industry

Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project)

Experience with financial or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, PeopleSoft)

Experience with stakeholder engagement or managing external partnerships
