Job Summary:
As part of the overall campus construction team, this position will assist with construction projects that focus on electrical related tasks. This position will provide oversight and coordination of all work activities, including but not limited to, layout/design, estimating, material ordering, work scheduling, permitting, and the installation and maintenance of electrical components. For non-electrical construction projects, this position will assist other team members, acting in similar lead roles for their specific trades, as needed to perform a multitude of construction activities. These activities may include tasks related to plumbing, painting, carpentry, HVAC, and other trades connected to the construction industry.
In general, this position must be able to:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and code books to effectively perform the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical components.
Have and maintain knowledge of regulatory codes and requirements.
Understand and follow all campus safety procedures, design guidelines, inspection requirements, and financial policies.
Clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, with various campus stakeholders.
Successfully work independently or as part of a team, based on the unique requirements of each project.
Required Qualifications:
High School education or GED with 5 years acceptable to the State Licensing Board in planning for, laying out, supervising, and installing wiring apparatus, or equipment for electrical light, heat, and power.
OR
Graduation from a 4 year electrical course in an accredited college or university and have at least 1 year experience acceptable to the state licensing board, as a licensed journeyman electrician.
NE Electrical Contractor License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
NE State Driver's License
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, shop drawings
Must be willing to assist other trades as needed to contribute to the overall construction team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience supervising an electrical crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial electrical systems and components.
Additional Information:
Selected candidate will need to complete a background check and pre-employment physical testing.
