
Job Summary:
As part of the overall campus construction team, this position will act as the lead on construction projects that focus on HVAC related tasks. This position will provide oversight and coordination of all work activities, including but not limited to, layout/design, estimating, material ordering, work scheduling, permitting, and the installation and maintenance of HVAC components. As the lead, this position will engage with requesting departments to understand, guide, plan, and implement the desired outcome.
For non-HVAC construction projects, this position will assist other team members, acting in similar lead roles for their specific trades, as needed to perform a multitude of construction activities. These activities may include tasks related to electrical, painting, carpentry, plumbing, and other trades connected to the construction industry.
In general, this position must be able to:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and code books to effectively perform the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC components.
Have and maintain knowledge of regulatory codes and requirements such as the International Mechanical Code.
Understand and follow all campus safety procedures, design guidelines, inspection requirements, and financial policies.
Clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, with various campus stakeholders.
Successfully work independently or as part of a team, based on the unique requirements of each project.

Required Qualifications:
Required Education:High School education or GED
Required Experience: 5 years - Commercial HVAC service and installation. Including considerable knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and safety practices related to the HVAC trade.
Must be willing to assist other trades as needed to contribute to the overall construction team.
Required License/Certification:
E.P.A. Section 608 Technician Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years experience supervising an HVAC crew in the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems and components.
