Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for the collection, evaluation, packaging, and coordination of disposal for hazardous waste, biohazard waste, and universal waste generated across the University of Nebraska at Kearney campus. This position ensures proper handling and regulatory compliance for chemical waste produced campus-wide. Duties include waste collection, hazardous waste determinations, and maintaining safety and regulatory records in accordance with federal and state regulations and university policies. This position will also perform safety inspections across campus including but not limited to emergency eyewash/shower stations, and fire extinguishers.

Required Qualifications:

High School education or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience in hazardous waste or related area

 

Selected candidate will need to complete a pre-employment physical and background check.
