Job Description

Job Summary:

Daily activities require the maintenance and operation of various tools and equipment associated with a commercial grounds and landscaping operation. Duties also include the proper care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, turf areas, flower beds, irrigation equipment, and hardscape along with campus recycling and trash removal. Responsibilities also include the performance of work in accordance with established safety procedures, the estimation of time and material costs on landscaping projects, the requisitioning of supplies and equipment, as well as snow and ice removal. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to work safely in varying temperature extremes since most work will occur outdoors.

Required Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED. Valid Nebraska driver’s license (within 6 months of hire). Working knowledge of equipment and job functions of a commercial landscaping and grounds operation. Good oral, writing and organizational skills.

The successful candidate must complete, prior to the start of employment, post-offer employment testing to ensure they can complete the physical demands of the job and a background investigation. Physical demands of the position are heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, climbing, and bending flexibility.
