
Job Summary:
The University of Nebraska at Kearney seeks a visionary and collaborative leader to serve as the Micro-Credential and Digital Learning Specialist. This role advances the university’s mission to meet regional and statewide workforce needs by aligning academic innovation with skills-first programming, micro-credentialing, and employer partnerships. The Specialist will oversee initiatives that bridge academic and non-credit programming with industry expectations, support faculty in designing competency-based education (CBE), and engage external stakeholders to co-develop and validate credentials that strengthen Nebraska’s talent pipeline. This position plays a key role in designing, managing, and promoting micro-credential pathways and digital learning experiences that extend the reach of UNK’s mission beyond traditional degree programs.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in educationm higher education administration, buisness, economic development or related discipline. Two years of related experience
Required Knowlege, Skills, Abilities:
Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work with a variety of information systems
Effective communication and listening skills, ability to work independently, in a team, and with precision
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in education, higher education administration, business, economic development, or related discipline.
Preferred Experience: 2 years experience in digital learning or credentialing platforms. Experience business development, employer engagement, academic innovation, or a related setting.
The individual should possess strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams andcoordinate multiple initiatives related to micro-credentialing and workforce development. They must demonstrate a solid understanding of digital learning platforms, competency-based education, and strategies for aligning credentials with industry needs. The role also requires analytical thinking and collaborative problem-solving abilities to develop assessments, interpret data, and support continuous improvement of learning pathways.
