Plant Chiller & Controls Operator
Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for the efficient and smooth operation of plant chiller systems, cooling towers, pump and piping equipment, ensuring they are reliable and operated per manufacturer recommendations. Also handle troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of related campus equipment. Utilize Metasys to perform diagnostic evaluation of chillers, towers, and pumps. Must be able to work in varying temperature extremes. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems.
- Maintenance on building pumps and piping related to campus cooling equipment.
- Special Project Work Assignment
- Based on job responsibilities in the event of a campus incident this position may be required to report to work, even during periods when the campus is closed, due to its essential nature.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Education or GED
- 3 years of industrial maintenance or service required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
- Certificate in Domestic Refrigeration or an equivalent.
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of industrial maintenance or service required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
