Job Summary:
The teacher assistant reports to the lead teacher and will help with the general care of the children, help with facilitating activities, and completing tasks to ensure the classrooms are kept clean and orderly. She will also complete forms as requested by the Lead teacher and/or the director. The teacher assistant will comply with the DHHS licensing requirements for teacher assistant.
Required Qualifications:
High School education or GED and 18 years of age
- Must have general knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice.
- Be able to address issues pertaining to the care of the children quickly and properly.
- Interact with classroom lead teacher, center director, other lead teachers, student workers, and parents.
Candidates being considered for employment at unk child development center must be checked against the central registry of child abuse and neglect and the adult protective services registry and have a positive report from the nebraska state patrol regarding a criminal history and nebraska sex offender registry check before being hired.
