Position Description

 

The Department of Accounting, Finance & Economics at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is seeking applications for a full-time Lecturer in Accounting beginning Fall 2026. We seek a dynamic educator committed to excellence in teaching, student engagement, and professional development.

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Teach four undergraduate and/or graduate courses across the accounting curriculum and other courses as assigned per semester
  • Advise and mentor students to support their academic success and career development
  • Participate in department, college, and university service activities as assigned
  • Maintaining currency and relevancy in the discipline through ongoing professional engagement and development 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree in accounting or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, student-centered teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • College-level teaching experience, particularly in accounting or related fields
  • Professional experience: significant in duration and responsibility, and related to the teaching areas
  • Professional certification(s) such as, but not limited to, CPA or CMA.
