Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Career Services position will serve as an integral part of the Engineering Student Services team by leading career development activities, events, interviews, classroom presentations, career coaching, and first destination and internship data for the College of Engineering programs in Lincoln and Omaha. This position will serve as the primary career services contact for engineering students, employers, and UNL and UNO Career Services offices; and will supervise the College of Engineering Career Services Coordinator in Omaha. Serving as an engaged member of the Engineering Student Services Team, the position will assist in the direction of programs and services designed to enhance the professional skill and career development of the College of Engineering's undergraduate student populations as directed. Position will provide strategic outreach to students who need career-related interventions. On behalf of the college and/or university, position will lead programs and processes that will impact student success in the college and university. Position will leverage knowledge of college and university policies and procedures to critically analyze and map business processes and data to identify gaps and ensure maximum efficiency. Plan and instruct career related courses such as ENGR 20 Career Seminar to sophomore each fall and spring semester.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, education, counseling, psychology, student affairs, or related field two (2) years' experience in student employment, internships/cooperative education, and/or career services.
- Demonstrated presentation skills essential.
- Proficiency with word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering, business, education, counseling, psychology, student affairs, or related field and three (3) years of experience in student employment, internships/cooperative education, career services.
- Knowledge of occupational areas translated to college majors desirable.
- Counseling skills and knowledge of theory/application of career counseling helpful.
- Ability to interpret statistical information desirable.
The ideal Assistant Director of Career Services is a proactive leader with expertise in career development, coaching, event coordination, and data management for engineering students across multiple campuses. Skilled in collaboration, process improvement, and strategic outreach, this candidate will effectively analyze and optimize business processes to support student success. They must have the ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with excellent organization/time management skills. Additionally, they will demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
