Conflict of Interest Coordinator I, II, or III
Job Description

Job Summary:

Research Compliance, Integrity, and Security (RCIS) seeks to hire a Conflict of Interest professional at one of three levels: Coordinator I, II or III.

This position performs functions related to the oversight, guidance and direction of the UNL Conflict of Interest Program, processes, and policies. The primary focus of this position is applying policies and regulations to provide expert advice and training to university administrators and employees on matters relating to COI in research and preventing non-compliance with organizational policies and procedures relating to COI in research. Other duties as assigned specific to training, creation of management plans and leading the Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (CIRC).

In addition, the Coordinator II and III perform other duties as assigned specific to training, creation of management plans and leading the Conflict of Interest in Research Committee (CIRC).

Required Qualifications:

 

Level I: 

  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment; additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong decision-making, planning, and organizational skills
  • Solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills. 
  • Understanding of policy and procedure interpretation and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.

Level II: 

  • Bachelor's degree and  2 years of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment; additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute on a year-for-year basis  
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong decision-making, planning, and organizational skills
  • Solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills.
  • Prior experience with policy and procedure interpretation and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex multi-tasking environment.

Level III:

  • Bachelor's degree and  4 years of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment; additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute on a year-for-year basis.  
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid presentation, negotiation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and meeting management skills.
  • Prior experience with policy and procedure interpretation and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Level I:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • CITI Trained, CRA Certification

Level II: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment.
  • CITI Trained, CRA Certification

Level III:

  • Master's degree in a STEM field.
  • 6 years of relevant experience at a research university or a clinical or regulatory environment.
  • CITI Trained, CRA Certification
