
Job Summary:
Performs duties as a Geographic Information Systems Specialist in support of the Nebraska Army National Guard, Construction and Facilities Management Office (CFMO). Collects, analyzes, manages, and distributes statewide spatial information products and services supporting Installations Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S). Creates and maintains current spatial data layers and metadata that adhere to strict national databases. Conducts field work using various surveying equipment to preserve accurate GIS data. Provides direct customer service support to project managers and CFMO personnel by providing standard and custom cartographic products. Completes maps and analysis to aid site master planning, maintenance, and all other construction and military training projects. Maintains hardware and software equipment and make technical recommendations to meet system and project requirements. Position is located in Nebraska National Guard facilities in Lincoln. US Citizenship is required. Subject to obtaining a security clearance prior to employment in the position.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, geographic information science, or related area.
- Two years of training and experience inGIS, cartography, and remote sensing.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and ArcView software.
- Familiarity with GPS.
- Experience must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
- Master's degree in geography, geographic information science, or related area.
- At least one year of experience with Spacial Data Standards for Facilities, Installations, and Environment (SDSFIE).
- Experience with metadata editing.
