
Job Summary:
This position serves as the primary point of contact for graduate students interested in pursuing a graduate degree in Mechanical and Materials Engineering. The position is responsible for tracking and maintaining all graduate student data including academic progress. The person in this position will track, process, and monitor prospective graduate student applications through integrative software programs. The position is responsible for obtaining and forwarding to Graduate Studies required documents for domestic and international students, coordinating and attending meetings of the department graduate committee, notifying students of actions taken, updating databases, summarizing statistical data and producing reports, developing recruitment materials, and editing graduate program resources. This position is also responsible for course and classroom scheduling, organizing and reporting scholarship and fellowship awards, coordinating undergraduate advising, and MRP/SRP preparation and textbook management. General office duties include answering the phone, greeting visitors, and assisting with office equipment.

Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree plus two (2) years of office support experience. Additional years of relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Work history will demonstrate experience in document/report preparation and formatting in Word and Excel.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Four (4) years of related experience in an academic institution, including experience providing customer service and interacting with students.
- Experience with graduate programs in an academic environment, preferably with UNL graduate programs.
- Experience with NUVIEW, NULOOK, AP and SIS.
- Knowledge of a wide range of electronic communication.
