Job Summary:
Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring continuous availability of Nebraska Student Information Systems (NeSIS), including Oracle software and servers. Design and implementation of enterprise system architecture. Maintain existing systems by applying patches and upgrades. Monitor, analyze and ensure system performance, capacity, and uptime meet university service level agreements within a 24x7 operation. Plans, conducts, and coordinates the application of state-of-the-art information processing techniques in the analysis, design and implementation of software systems technical support and operating system development. Assignments are of a complex nature on major software design and development projects that require the application and/or generation of new technologies and concepts. The characteristics of work at this level involve a broad knowledge of the software systems development field and require extensive independent judgment, creativity and decision making. Generally acts as technical project leader for lower staff.

Required Qualifications:
Oracle System Administrator L2:
Bachelor's degree in IT related field
5 years experience with enterprise level software or equivalent.
Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Oracle System Administrator L1:
Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field
Three years of experience with enterprise level software or equivalent.
Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Oracle System Administrator L2:
8 or more years increasingly complex experience with enterprise level software, including ERP software, relational databases and DEVOPS programming including bash and PowerShell scripting. SQL Tuning, Query and Relational Database concepts. Management of log files, system alerts and vulnerability reports.
Proven competency in Oracle_Campus_Solutions, Oracle_Weblogic, Oracle_Tuxedo, Oracle_OpenSearch, Oracle_OpenDashboard, Oracle_Linux, Oracle Java, Oracle Database Client, and Oracle_Enterprise_manager.
Relational database concepts; Linux; Linux shell programming; Complex Oracle database PL/SQL, Programming, Creating Dashboards and extraction for system performance.
Preference given to those with experience in Oracle Database, Oracle Middleware, Oracle SQL, Oracle Enterprise Applications, PHIRE change management software. WebFOCUS, EMS, Sunapsis and related architecture.
Oracle System Administrator L1:
Experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
DevOps programming including bash and PowerShell scripting.
SQL Tuning, Query and Relational Database concepts.
Management of log files, system alerts and vulnerability reports.
Preference given to those with experience in Oracle Database, Oracle Middleware, Oracle SQL, Oracle Enterprise Applications, PHIRE change management software

This position is designated as an on-site role and is not eligible for an alternative worksite arrangement at the time of hire. Following successful completion of the initial probationary period and demonstration of satisfactory performance, employees in this position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement, subject to departmental needs and supervisory approval. Under the University of Nebraska Information Technology Services (NU ITS) hybrid work guidelines, eligible employees may work remotely up to two days per week and are required to work on-site a minimum of three days per week at one of the University of Nebraska campuses in Lincoln, Omaha, or Kearney.
