Project Manager for Strategic Enrollment Initiatives
Job Description

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Academic Services and Enrollment Management (ASEM), the Project Manager for Strategic Enrollment Initiatives (SEI) serves as a resource for researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating strategic enrollment initiatives at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The incumbent will provide project management, change management, business analysis, and continuous process improvement support across ASEM functional domains. This individual will manage multiple projects, initiatives, and associated tasks simultaneously—ranging in degree of complexity—in support of enrollment marketing, communications, and visitor experience; outreach; admissions and recruitment; scholarship and financial aid; new student enrollment and orientations, and registrar-related initiatives. The incumbent will be expected to research, analyze data and information, develop plans, presentations, reports and proposals and track progress on sundry initiatives. Effective collaboration with a range of UNL constituents; across other UN campuses; with K-12, community colleges, and four-year colleges and universities; higher education partners; and vendors is an ongoing and essential to the effective functioning of the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience working in a higher education setting that includes; project management, change management, stakeholder engagement, and/or enrollment and student success efforts.
  • Knowledge of higher education undergraduate recruitment, admissions, and/or enrollment strategies and tactics.
  • Strong understanding of higher education CRM technologies for recruitment.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building strong professional relationships with a variety of constituents.
  • Ability to manage and deliver sensitive information, tactfully and professionally.
  • Ability to understand and use recruitment, admissions, and enrollment-related data, with the ability to effectively communicate related data trends to various audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to allow for effective and positive communication (verbal, written, electronic) with a variety of stakeholders groups across the university.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred but not required: 

  • Master's degree and five (5) years of experience working in a higher education setting
  • Experience working in a public 4-year university
  • Strong Project Management, change management stakeholder engagement and/or enrollment management
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate teams in a higher education setting
  • Knowledge of issues and national trends related to recruitment and enrollment of undergraduate students.
  • Experience working with project management and change management tools and techniques
  • Experience analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting a variety of different inputs to reports and other documents in a variety of formats
  • Experience working with MS Excel, Qualtrics, Tableau or other data visualization products
  • Familiarity with benchmarking and research procedures in higher education or similar complex organizations
  • Experience working and supporting ASEM functional domains, particularly marketing and recruitment

Ideal Candidate Statement:

The Project Manager for SEI must be able to work effectively in a highly complex and dynamic organization while juggling multiple, shifting, and competing priorities. Thus, the incumbent must be an excellent communicator, planner, collaborator and problem-solver. They will have exceptional attention to detail, be creative, and have experience using a range of strategies, tools, and techniques to plan, manage, complete and evaluate project and change initiatives. They will demonstrate a consistent and strong focus on the user experience and be dedicated to continuous learning toward developing new skills to effectively identify efficiencies and affect change.
