
Job Summary:
Work with a co-teacher in an assigned infant, toddler or preschool classroom. Apply professional knowledge of child development principles in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate practices and emergent curriculum while supervising and interacting with children. Communicate with co-workers, supervisors, parents, other early childhood professionals, etc. Perform administrative duties including preparation of lesson plans, maintaining documentation and portfolios, etc.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, and/or associates degree with coursework in Early Childhood education and two years of experience, and/or a minimum of four years of relevant early childhood education/experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
- Must have practicum experience completed in a child care environment while attending school; significant, relevant experience may be substituted depending on the candidate’s ability to meet the education and practicum plan requirements.
- Must have experience and proficiency with basic computer software such as word processing, data entry, and email.
- Knowledge of early childhood developmental care required. Must have excellent communication skills that can be tailored to children, peers, parents, etc. Must have demonstrated leadership skills that include the ability to lead a classroom of children and student staff while making independent decisions and solving problems in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field, plus two years of experience working in an early childhood program preferred.
- Two years of experience working in an early childhood program preferred. Experience with “Teaching Strategies Gold” software
- Knowledge of Creative Curriculum
