Job Summary:
The Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) is responsible for leadership and management of the peer-led OLLI program designed for adult learners age 50+. The Institute provides noncredit courses (non-degree-granting programs), as well as social events, travel, interest groups, and other opportunities for engagement for its members. The Director oversees this major lifelong learning program on behalf of the university and provides strategic direction for the program with advice and input from the OLLI Advisory Council. The Director's responsibilities include providing direction to the paid staff and volunteers, overseeing and implementing curriculum, and managing the Institute's budget as well as creating opportunities for community outreach, fundraising, managing publicity and marketing communications, and developing membership. Other projects include the management of special events and outreach projects within and outside of the University.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business, marketing, education, gerontology, or related fields and three (3) years of increasingly responsible duties in the management of program development, budgeting, financial oversight, and fundraising.
- Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience overseeing volunteers and supervising team members.
- Experience working with adults learners and in adult education.
- Demonstrated experience in learning technologies, including learning management systems and distance learning platforms.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and other business and communications software, registration and/or database software.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
- Ph.D. in business, marketing, education, gerontology, or related fields.

They will demonstrate proven success in team building and motivation, and possess exceptional organizational skills to facilitate planning, coordination, and schedules in an efficient, productive manner. They will be able to anticipate contingencies and adjust accordingly, display attention to detail, target projects or initiatives that require special attention, and focus on key tasks when faced with limited time and/or resources.
