Job Summary:
This position is an integral component of Eppley Institute management of approximately $25-30 million in annual expenditures from multiple funding sources supporting 20+ faculty members. Activities range from preparing specialized budget reports for all Eppley Institute and externally funded projects to overseeing post-award support for the Director and faculty. Responsibilities include developing and preparing budgets and reports, coordinating financial compliance with all UNMC, state, federal and sponsor regulations, and maintaining strong internal controls and fiscal accountability.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 3 years progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience to include budget preparation, financial reporting, and reconciliation responsibilities.
- Microsoft Excel,Microsoft Word
Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.
- In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgetary processes.
- Knowledge of federal regulations governing sponsored projects, including OMB Uniform Guidance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, SAP, and other financial management software.
- Commitment to continuous process improvement and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA) or CPA certification.
- 4 years experience
- SAP,Microsoft Outlook
- Experience with university or governmental accounting principles, and practices.
- Managing sponsored research projects, federal grants, an/or project accounting.
- Proficiency in SAP or other enterprise financial systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables and complex formulas,
- Preparing reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar analytic tools.
- Auditing experience.
