Job Summary:

The Accounting/Travel Supervisor will oversee financial operations and travel coordination within the Family Medicine Department. This role ensures compliance with institutional policies, supervises two administrative staff, and supports 178+ faculty, residents, fellows, and staff with financial and travel-related needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Management, or Administration related field
  • 2 years increasingly responsible administrative support experience to include management and accounting/travel experience.
  • Microsoft Outlook,Microsoft Excel,Microsoft Word

Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.

 

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills to guide, support, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Provides direction and mentorship to staff, fostering a productive and respectful work environment.
  • Exercises sound judgment in delegating tasks and managing team priorities.
  • Maintains accountability for team performance, ensuring deadlines and compliance standards are met.
  • Effectively handles high-pressure situations and supports staff in navigating challenges.
  • Proactively identifies issues and implements solutions, balancing autonomy with strategic consultation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • SAP,Concur, Workday, ADIS, SPA Tickler, RSS, Strata, Ariba

       

  • Self-motivated and capable of operating independently with minimal supervision, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage competing demands across multiple projects.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Skilled in tracking progress, following up, and ensuring follow-through on departmental initiatives.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information and enforces compliance with institutional policies.
  • Familiar with and ensures adherence to organizational standards (e.g., UNMC, NM) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook, for reporting and communication.
  • Experienced with financial systems such as CONCUR, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of financial processes including accounts payable, reconciliation, and travel
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with faculty, staff, residents, and external vendors.
  • Provides courteous and responsive support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitates clear and professional communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness in navigating administrative and financial challenges.
  • Capable of managing diverse tasks and deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Leads efforts to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
