Job Summary:

Responsible for administrative leadership of various Anesthesiology Department functions including (1.) fiscal and personnel management of the Anesthesiology Research Division, (2.) operational oversight of various education programs, (3.) administration of the Departments contracted clinical providers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years rrogressive management experience to include experience with financial and personnel management
  • Microsoft Excel,Microsoft Outlook,Microsoft Word,Microsoft PowerPoint

Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.

 

  • General business acumen and vision to include: common sense, good judgment, negotiation skills, basic accounting, financial statement knowledge including accurate interpretation and analysis, and ability to anticipate and forecast programmatic needs of the business unit/college.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in analytic reasoning and strategic planning to formulate budgets and administrative policies and processes.
  • Understanding of regulatory framework and internal controls (financial and compliance) and ability to apply them within the business unit/college
  • Ability to assess risk and problem solve by critically evaluating alternative courses of action and arriving at solutions that are best for both the business unit/college and UNMC as a whole.
  • Understanding of human resource administration and related regulatory environment.
  • Exhibits a style of participatory leadership and fosters a climate of respect and collegiality to include competency regarding: conflict management, supervision, mentoring, and team building.
  • Working knowledge of related technological resources/software to include enterprise systems and the MS Office suite.
  • Ability to counsel superiors regarding required alternative courses of action.
  • Ability to collaborate and manage across multiple organizations.
  • Advanced understanding of health care financial management concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and to develop unique solutions to business problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Business Administration or related field
  • 2 years work in a business/office environment

 

  • Knowledge of terminology and practices specifically related to the respective Divisions that are managed.
  • Ideal candidate will exhibit a strong history of successful working experiences in an academic medical setting and ability to work with and for others in a collaborative team environment.
