Job Summary:

The Director for Academic Affairs is responsible for operational and personnel functions to advance the CAHP’s educational mission forward. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to student remediation and progression, academic policy development, implementation, and execution, compliance with institutional accreditation, coordinating commission reporting, and state authorizations, collection and analysis of college-wide program outcome data and reporting,  assessment mapping and strategic alignment with institutional outcomes, implementing and managing assessment tools and databases such as course and instructor evaluations, exit surveys, and graduate/employer surveys, providing program and student guidance related accommodations, and providing guidance for curricula design, revisions, development, and course management. The Director for Academic Affairs will work closely with the College of Allied Health Professions’ enrollment management and student affairs team. This position may also carry a faculty appointment within the College of Allied Health Professions. The faculty appointment will be ranked within a department of the College of Allied Health Professions that corresponds to the applicant’s experiences and area of study.

Required Qualifications:

A master's degree in related field with experience in post-secondary higher education or health professions related fields.

Supplemental Qualifications:

PhD, EdD (or equivalent) or academic terminal degree in related field.

The Director for Academic Affairs role is housed within the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Allied Health Professions (CAHP). The Director for Academic Affairs is responsible for operational functions and personnel associated with student remediation and progression, academic policy development, implementation, and execution, compliance with institutional accreditation, coordinating commission reporting, and state authorizations, collection and analysis of college-wide program outcome data and reporting, assessment mapping and strategic alignment with institutional outcomes, implementing and managing assessment tools and databases such as course and instructor evaluations, exit surveys, and graduate/employer surveys, providing program and student guidance related accommodations, and providing guidance for curricula design, revisions, development, and course management. This person may fulfill some teaching and educational scholarship responsibilities within the College of Allied Health Professions. This person will report to the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs in coordination with the respective academic department chairs overseeing the curriculum that the Director for Academic Affairs teaches. This person will be supervising administrative personnel related to the academic affairs functions. This position may also carry a faculty appointment within the College of Allied Health Professions. The faculty appointment will be ranked within a department of the College of Allied Health Professions that corresponds to the applicant’s experiences and area of study.

This position requires the ability to occasionally travel to and from the two primary CAHP campus locations: Kearney and Omaha.  

This position requires excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, program directors, colleagues in enrollment management and student affairs, administration within the CAHP and UNMC, and staff.
