IACUC Coordinator
Job Description

Job Summary:

To provide complex and detailed administrative oversight conducted under the jurisdiction of the UNMC Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). This oversight includes determining IACUC review requirements, semiannual inspections, timely continuing review (CR) notifications, monitoring expiration of research, maintaining the IACUC website, development, training and implementation of the online submissions on the Research Support System (RSS), as well as general office duties. The position also initiates administrative actions to ensure all research involving animals complies with multiple applicable regulations including the Animal Welfare Act, Public Health Service Policy, AAALAC International accreditation standards, the Guide, USDA requirements, and Institutional Guidelines and Policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or Scientific field.
  • 2 years experience with research involving animals. IACUC administration experience.
  • Microsoft Outlook,Microsoft PowerPoint,Microsoft Word

Will consider six years related education and/or experience combined in which must include two years post high school education.

 

  • Knowledge of medical/scientific terminology, as well as working knowledge of academic research involving animals.
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Healthcare or Scientific field.
  • 4 years IACUC administration experience in an academic institutional setting.
  • Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA)
  • Microsoft Outlook,Microsoft PowerPoint,Microsoft Word,SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Zoom

 

  • Knowledge of regulations/guidelines related to animal research.
