North Omaha Initiative Coordinator - Black Studies/Sociology - Graduate Assistant
Job Description

Job Summary:

The North Omaha Initiative requires a graduate assistant to work with the Transitional Specialist and the Black Studies’ Office Associate to help coordinate needs of students, faculty, and community stakeholders. The GA will assist the Department Chair and Transitional Specialist with planning, marketing, and coordinating North Omaha Initiative events, with a particular emphasis on recruitment and retention from North Omaha area schools and communities. The GA will work with faculty and Criss Library to help develop Open Educational Resources for North Omaha Initiative courses and work to help students navigate UNO resources and spaces

Required Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in a UNO Master’s Program and have successfully completed at the undergraduate or graduate level. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with email, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a weekly basis. Must complete a background check. Carry a minimum of six graduate hours in each of the fall and spring semesters, as well as strong intercultural communication skills.
