Job Summary:

Academic Radiation Oncologist – Head & Neck Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Radiation Oncologist with a primary clinical focus in Head and Neck Oncology and a secondary focus in Thoracic Oncology. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing academic department within Nebraska’s only NCI-designated cancer center.

We offer access to state-of-the-art treatment facilities, advanced radiation therapy technologies, and robust support from a highly skilled team of physicists and dosimetrists. A new upright proton therapy suite is currently under construction and expected to open in Spring 2027, significantly enhancing our treatment capabilities and patient care.

The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center—Nebraska’s only NCI-designated cancer center—serves as the hub for our clinical and research activities. Our expanding department includes ten physicians, nine physicists, and two research faculty members, all committed to excellence in education across the continuum—from health professions students to postgraduate trainees and continuing medical education.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate
must hold an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) and be board certified or board eligible in Radiation Oncology.
