Research Technologist II
Job Description

Job Summary:

This position will primarily conceive, conduct, report, and support others in biomedical research on infectious organisms and/or host tissues, as well as bioinformatics. This position will also provide mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students, and support administrative/regulatory needs in the research lab.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in biology or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in conducting research

Equivalent combination of education, experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.


Required Knowlege, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to conduct and complete biomedical research projects and tasks
  • Ability to conduct and complete bioinformatics research projects and tasks
  • Ability to complete projects within a timeframe
  • Ability to support other lab researchers with their projects
  • Knowledge of current biosafety practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of mouse handling practices and basic procedures
  • Knowledge of basic and common lab reagents and supplies
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Maintain accurate and organized records

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in biology or related field
  • Researcher capable of independent conception, execution, and reporting of biomedical research tasks to meet funded research priorities and needs. Self-starter with excellent time management and research skills. Ability to access latest biomedical information and leverage for maximum positive impact on research. Experience with a wide array of molecular biology, bioinformatics, immunological, tissue culture, and small animal techniques.
