
Job Summary:
This position will primarily conceive, conduct, report, and support others in biomedical research on infectious organisms and/or host tissues, as well as bioinformatics. This position will also provide mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students, and support administrative/regulatory needs in the research lab.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in biology or related field
- 5+ years of experience in conducting research
Equivalent combination of education, experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Required Knowlege, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to conduct and complete biomedical research projects and tasks
- Ability to conduct and complete bioinformatics research projects and tasks
- Ability to complete projects within a timeframe
- Ability to support other lab researchers with their projects
- Knowledge of current biosafety practices and procedures
- Knowledge of mouse handling practices and basic procedures
- Knowledge of basic and common lab reagents and supplies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Maintain accurate and organized records
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in biology or related field
- Researcher capable of independent conception, execution, and reporting of biomedical research tasks to meet funded research priorities and needs. Self-starter with excellent time management and research skills. Ability to access latest biomedical information and leverage for maximum positive impact on research. Experience with a wide array of molecular biology, bioinformatics, immunological, tissue culture, and small animal techniques.
