Sr. Internal Auditor/ Sr. IAAS Analyst
Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting and executing projects in the University-wide internal audit plan: planning through fieldwork, including creating individualized audit programs for university activities, developing recommendations to improve university policies and processes, and meeting with university management to discuss such recommendations. This role requires more versatility than public accounting, as projects cover areas besides just financial auditing. The position reports to Campus Internal Audit Directors on projects and overall to the Director of Internal Audit and Advisory Services (Director).

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of demonstrated external or internal audit experience (excluding internships)

Certification, or stated intent to obtain, relevant certification(s) (CIA, CISA, CGFM, CFE)

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy

Valid driver’s license

 

Note: Applicants who do not hold 24 semester hours of Accounting or Auditing are classified as Sr. IAAS Analyst.

Equivalent combination of education, experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or IT and 5 years of relevant business experience, which may include: internal audit, external audit in a CPA firm, or in a relevant consulting position.

At least 24 semester hours of Accounting or Auditing courses.

CPA or CIA certification

Demonstrated understanding of risk and internal control concepts and their practical application

Working knowledge of systems such as SAP, Peoplesoft, and the data analysis tool ACL

Experience in higher education

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position, but we are flexible with work schedules and would consider schedules of fewer than 40 hours. The position will work in an office on a University Campus in Lincoln, Kearney, or Omaha.
