Senior Education Program Coordinator
Job Description

Job Summary:

Administer the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology's educational programs that include undergraduate and graduate courses, summer undergraduate research program (SURP), and postdoctoral trainee program. Assist in the coordination of the MS and PhD programs in Immunology, Pathology, and Infectious Disease (IPID) and the MD/PhD Scholar Program. For all programs, the position will facilitate application processes; ensure accreditation with program standards; have a firm understanding of policies and procedures; financial stewardship; a collaborate with program directors on long range planning and development; plus provide complex, technical and responsible administrative support to faculty and administration in an independent manner. Provide event coordination of departmental education and outreach events that benefit our trainees, faculty, and external audiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree
  • 5 years increasingly responsible administrative support and/or educator experience to include some program/project coordination experience.
  • Microsoft Excel,Microsoft Word,Microsoft PowerPoint,Microsoft Outlook

Will consider seven years education/related experience combined, which must include some program/project coordination in education.

 

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and handle stressful situations with complete accuracy, confidentiality, and dependability.
  • Must show initiative, flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Skilled in problem-solving and dealing with multiple and often conflicting positions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills so that interact with faculty, students, staff, and scientific organizations and other members of the public in a positive and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of program coordination to evaluate current and proposed policies, effectiveness, and recommend modifications and improvements.
  • Able to manage complex documentation and statistical files and prepare complex analyses of final reports.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 years increasingly responsible administrative support and/or educator experience.
  • 2 years of program/project coordination experience.
  • SAP, Adobe Photoshop, Blackboard, Canvas, Database Software, Analytical Software, and Aribia

 

  • Medical and/or scientific terminology.
  • Experience in medical field and practice environment, preferably pathology, microbiology and/or immunology.
  • Experience of academic institutions.
  • Exhibits advanced knowledge of accreditation common program requirements.
  • Exhibits advanced knowledge of accreditation specialty requirements.
  • Exhibits advanced knowledge of professional ethics, laws and regulations.
  • Exhibits exceptional interpersonal/customer service skills and is able to cope with stress effectively.
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor and disposition to work effectively with varying personalities.
  • Exhibits the highest moral integrity when handling confidential information.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates competency in administrative management of program.
  • Demonstrates competency in fiscal management of program.
  • Demonstrates competency in data management of program.
  • Demonstrates competency in program compliance management.
