Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Retail Associate/ Barista will be responsible for the supervision and operation of the coffee shop within the Kiewit Café.

The Sr. Retail Associate/Barista will provide excellent customer service by:

  • Greeting and providing a friendly atmosphere to guests, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Take accurate beverage orders.
  • Make beverages accurately and in a timely fashion.

This individual will complete operation and administration functions of the coffee shop by:

  • Controlling cash.
  • Reconciling sales receipts.
  • Ordering products and supplies.
  • Maintaining appropriate levels of inventory.
  • Cleaning /sanitizing equipment.
  • Communicate with leadership on concerns, scheduling, or personnel issues.
  • Partner with the leadership to set prices and maintain profit margins.

This position will serve as a leader to student staff:

  • Train and supervise student employees.
  • Facilitate a team environment.
  • This position will assist the production team in preparing food products for the day.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School education or GED plus 1 year retail food service experience.
  • Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test.
  • Ability to read, write, weigh and measure necessary. Ability to communicate essential. Must have the ability to train and lead others.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred but not required:

  • Barista Experience.
  • Supervision of a team.
