Job Summary:
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) is accepting applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position starting in August 2026. The Department is looking for a passionate educator who is focused on student success. Teaching responsibilities will primarily include face-to-face introductory courses for non-majors, such as Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and/or Trigonometry. The teaching load is 12 credit hours on campus each semester (spring and fall).
Required Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, or a closely related discipline earned by the date of appointment
- Evidence of a focus on student success in undergraduate education
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of excellence in teaching undergraduate mathematics or statistics courses, including innovative or active learning approaches.
