Job Summary:
The Department of Biology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is seeking candidates for one a one-year, 9-month, visiting lecturer or visiting assistant professor position in biology to begin Fall 2026. The successful applicant will be trained in a anatomy/physiology/microbiology or related discipline (cellular biology, or molecular biology) and will be expected to pedagogically address and respond to the learning needs of all students. Duties will primarily include 1) teaching on-campus undergraduate laboratories in anatomy and physiology, cell and molecular biology, and microbiology. Opportunities for lecture instruction for both majors and non-majors are possible. Visiting faculty are not required to provide service to the department or university. Opportunities to engage in research are available but not expected. Required Qualifications:
Candidates applying for the visiting faculty position must hold a MS degree in biology or closely related disciplines for Visting Lecturer, and candidates applying for the Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology must hold a PhD degree in biology or closely related discipline. The candidate should demonstrate evidence of excellent teaching and effective communication and collaborative skills. The candidate should demonstrate experience teaching anatomy and physiology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience in courses related to microbiology and/or cell and molecular biology at the undergraduate level.
