Job Summary:
Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring continuous availability of the University of Nebraska wireless networks. Including the design, implementation, and management of wireless access points, wireless controllers, network appliances, and network management solutions. Monitor, analyze, and ensure network performance, capacity, and uptime meet university service level agreements within a 24x7 operation. Troubleshoot complex problems, individually, with other members of the team, and with third-parties. Requires regular interaction with other networking, systems, and telecom professionals in the design and delivery of services; and with end-users to provide direct support.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in IT related field
3 years experience with the configuration, design, installation and maintenance of wireless networks, wireless hardware and communication networks both hardware and software
Thorough knowledge of routers and bridges, including the ability to diagnose problems and configure
Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP including, routing and addressing and multicast
Experience with multi-protocols and their function with TCP/IP
Experience with wireless network design, wireless hardware and installation
Experience with wireless security issues in an IP environment
Experience with AAA servers, Radius and authentication
Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of DNS/DHCP functions and structure
Knowledge of UNIX, Windows and Apple operating systems
Experience with IPv6
Cisco CCNP in wireless
CWNA and/or CWNP wireless certifications
