Job Description

Job Summary:

The Department of Neurological Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, Nebraska is searching for a board certified/board eligible neurologist with fellowship training in Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology.

 

The selected candidate will join our faculty and partner with two MS fellowship trained physicians, experienced nurse practitioners and physician assistancts and dedicated MS nurse case managers. This opportunity offers the ability to participate in the enhancement of our Multiple Sclerosis program and assist in further developing community services to boost access for patients with MS and other CNS demyelinating conditions in our community and the surrounding region through telemedicine initiatives. A teaching role with MS fellows, neurology residents and students, research activities and the provision of inpatient and outpatient services is included. UNMC supports robust research opportunities including current MS clinical trials.

 

Our MS Clinic serves over 2000 patients, is proud to be designated as a Center for Comprehensive MS Care by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and is affiliated with the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC). The clinic has strong support from a designated pharmacy team essential in expediting MS therapies and supporting patients. Other multi-disciplinary partners and subspecialties include neuroradiology, neuroophthalmology, urology and uro-gynecology, rehab medicine and rehab physicians, spasticity and intrathecal baclofen clinic, psychiatry, Neurology trained physical, occupational, speech therapists, nutritionist and social work.

Required Qualifications:

Board certified/board eligible neurologist with fellowship training in Multiple Sclerosis and demyelinating CNS illnesses.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in Multiple Sclerosis and demyelinating CNS illnesses research.
